I honestly prefer a credit union over big banks. For me, a credit union is a lot easier to deal with compared to banks and the folks at Oak Trust in Plainfield, Illinois just make the experience even better.

I purchased Kaspersky when I bought a new HP with Windows8. Kaspersky not only slowed the computer down to a crawl but caused it to shutdown frequently. We uninstalled Kaspersky and all the problems vanished. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. I made the mistake of buying a multiyear contract. When we discovered what was causing all our problems, I contacted Kaspersky for a refund on the remaining years. They apologized for the problems I am experiencing and told me, "Sorry, you had 14 days to cancel." No customer oriented business would treat a customer that way. I'll never buy anything from Kaspersky again.

Thank you for this extremely helpful review. This club is so conveniently located for me that it's tempting, but it's good to know about its limitations. I cannot stand shady pricing practices, but being forewarned is being fore-armed.

I bought this because it was a cheap option. The range isn't as good as my original sensor bar that came with the Wii. If you are within 5 feet you don't have much of a problem. Sometimes the screen indicator shakes and not because my hand.

Thanks for that tip about Filemaker's Admin login when it wants a password you never wanted to apply. It saved the bacon of one of my year 12 IT students today when it happened to him in the middle of a major assessment task.

Update for Claim Jumper follows. Our family has gone to the Brea, California, Claim Jumper for years. We have recently noticed a disturbing trend. The restaurant, in our opinion, seems to be on a downward slide. Bean counters may have taken control. They took the lettuce wedge off the menu because the lettuce that was used was only for one menu item. The fish and chips batter has become inferior. Instead of getting two pieces of garlic toast, you get one. This restaurant was an excellent establishment when it was family run. Now that a large corporation owns it, it seems management is too far removed, Texas, and fails to care for more than an increased profit margin.

HELP,

I have a TLC2196hd and am trying to find an owner's manual and probably a service manual. Need to clean it up, and also, it will not eject the tape (a bit of belt and tyre conditioner is likely all it needs. Where does one get this "puck rejuv"? (I have an industrial gas mask!).

My wife and daughter went to the Anaheim Disneyland, January 25, 2011, to pick up the Deluxe Annual Passport that I had purchased on line December 22 as a Christmas gift. In an earlier post, I indicated that the theme park would not confirm my purchase as they were not set up to do that except at the time of the transaction because the process is automated. I had called a day after making the purchase. When my daughter and wife went to Disneyland in 2011, I received a text message from my daughter, the first day they entered the park, that the print out and confirmation number was not on record when they arrived. In response to my daughter’s text message, I called Disneyland customer service and they asked me to see if my credit card showed a debit for the cost. If the transaction did not go through than my wife could use her ticket for today and use that cost against buying an annual pass. My wife could also go to Disneyland city hall and ask for an exception by explaining the circumstances and that would extend out for 30 days our ability to buy the annual pass. I did check my Visa on line history and I did not see any charges for that purchase. My wife decided to pay for the pass and I reimbursed my wife for the cost. Thank you Disneyland again for not providing adequate customer service by allowing me to confirm my purchase back in December 22.

Due to "citizen's united" and the general lack of campaign finance reform, our elections are at the mercy of large corporate special interests. It's the best democracy money can by. If corporations are considered citizens then when are they going to serve in the military or vote in our elections or get married and etc.? They certainly don't want to pay their fair share of taxes.

I felt your Rainforest Cafe review was a bit harsh: It's a theme park type restaurant and any edible food is to be celebrated! We eat there twice a year on our family vacations and are never disappointed with the Cobb, Buffalo Chicken and China Island Chicken salads(and a "Volcano"
dessert).

We received a private e-mail from a college department chairperson in a northern California campus. This viewpoint might shed some light as to why middle managers have grown so large on some college campuses. Part of this person's response follows:

"If a tenured faculty refuses to be on an important committee, there isn't anything I can do about it. The only "power" the chair or dean has is that of the bully pulpit or the cajole, but certainly the union protects the tenured faculty from everything as long as they teach. Unfortunately, as we in the faculty age, and as we get tired and set in our ways, and as there are few searches thus more temporary faculty, the department governance is left to the chair. And concurrently, the system demands more of faculty like assessment, and since they refuse to do it, the campus ends up hiring more and more administrators to do what faculty used to willingly do."

Some of the managers do more than suck up money and resources. We have found out that some deans, directors, and vice presidents have taken over the role of directing the course of departments, of which they do not have the necessary training and background. We are fearful that the academic vision and the resulting mission for those departments is possibly being misdirected and compromised.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the laws for revealing the faces of students under age. Even though this event took place outside of the high school, I am reluctant to show student faces. I will look further into this and I will try to post an image showing students if I find it legal to do so.

I always thought those middle managers sucked up way too much resource from the mission of the university. The people who teach and those that support that effort should have the highest priority and be compensated accordingly.

Dear Lynne Gross,

When I set this blog up, I was given a number of options, which I can change at any time. WordPress offers three options under the heading "Before a comment appears". I chose to not change the defaults, which are as follows:

An administrator must always approve the comment (yes).
Comment author must fill out name and e-mail (yes).
Comment author must have a previous approved comment (yes).

I do value good free honest open communication but that process is hampered if one puts up impediments. On the other hand there is a small population of individuals that will take advantage. Life is never simple.

I will turn off the first and third requirements and see if that solves the problem you shared with me. Thank you for your input and calling my attention to a possible deficiency of this blog. I do hope the changes solve the problem.

As of June 22, 07, I have gotten more tough allowing comments into this blog. It appears there are some low life forms that think it is cute to spam blogs with totally unrelated crap. I have thus attempted to block that activity.

Here is where I got in trouble the last time. Above it says my comment is awaiting "moderation." I interpret that to mean I said something too flamboyant and I need to make it tamer. Then it has a box that looks like I'm to add another comment or change my last one to be more moderate. I'll click "Submit Comment" but I'll bet that is when I get hung up.
